 A man who remains stiff-necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed--without remedy.  |  |

 When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.  |  | 
|   | 3 | 爱慕智慧的,使父亲喜乐。与妓女结交的,却浪费钱财。 
 A man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father, but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.  |  | 
|   | 4 | 王借公平,使国坚定。索要贿赂,使国倾败。 
 By justice a king gives a country stability, but one who is greedy for bribes tears it down.  |  | 
|   | 5 | 谄媚邻舍的,就是设网罗绊他的脚。 
 Whoever flatters his neighbor is spreading a net for his feet.  |  | 
|   | 6 | 恶人犯罪,自陷网罗。惟独义人,欢呼喜乐。 
 An evil man is snared by his own sin, but a righteous one can sing and be glad.  |  | 
|   | 7 | 义人知道查明穷人的案。恶人没有聪明,就不得而知。 
 The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern.  |  | 
|   | 8 | 亵慢人煽惑通城。智慧人止息众怒。 
 Mockers stir up a city, but wise men turn away anger.  |  | 
|   | 9 | 智慧人与愚妄人相争,或怒,或笑,总不能使他止息。 
 If a wise man goes to court with a fool, the fool rages and scoffs, and there is no peace.  |  | 
|   | 10 | 好流人血的,恨恶完全人。索取正直人的性命。 
 Bloodthirsty men hate a man of integrity and seek to kill the upright.  |  | 
|   | 11 | 愚妄人怒气全发。智慧人忍气含怒。 
 A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control.  |  | 
|   | 12 | 君王若听谎言,他一切臣仆都是奸恶。 
 If a ruler listens to lies, all his officials become wicked.  |  | 
|   | 13 | 贫穷人,强暴人,在世相遇,他们的眼目,都蒙耶和华光照。 
 The poor man and the oppressor have this in common: The LORD gives sight to the eyes of both.  |  | 
|   | 14 | 君王凭诚实判断穷人,他的国位,必永远坚立。 
 If a king judges the poor with fairness, his throne will always be secure.  |  | 
|   | 15 | 杖打和责备,能加增智慧。放纵的儿子,使母亲羞愧。 
 The rod of correction imparts wisdom, but a child left to himself disgraces his mother.  |  | 
|   | 16 | 恶人加多,过犯也加多。义人必看见他们跌倒。 
 When the wicked thrive, so does sin, but the righteous will see their downfall.  |  | 
|   | 17 | 管教你的儿子,他就使你得安息,也必使你心里喜乐。 
 Discipline your son, and he will give you peace; he will bring delight to your soul.  |  | 
|   | 18 | 没有异象,(或作默示)民就放肆。惟遵守律法的,便为有福。 
 Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but blessed is he who keeps the law.  |  | 
|   | 19 | 只用言语,仆人不肯受管教,他虽然明白,也不留意。 
 A servant cannot be corrected by mere words; though he understands, he will not respond.  |  | 
|   | 20 | 你见言语急躁的人吗?愚昧人比他更有指望。 
 Do you see a man who speaks in haste? There is more hope for a fool than for him.  |  | 
|   | 21 | 人将仆人从小娇养,这仆人终久必成了他的儿子。 
 If a man pampers his servant from youth, he will bring grief in the end.  |  | 
|   | 22 | 好气的人,挑启争端。暴怒的人,多多犯罪。 
 An angry man stirs up dissension, and a hot-tempered one commits many sins.  |  | 
|   | 23 | 人的高傲,必使他卑下。心里谦逊的,必得尊荣。 
 A man's pride brings him low, but a man of lowly spirit gains honor.  |  | 
|   | 24 | 人与盗贼分赃,是恨恶自己的性命。他听见叫人发誓的声音,却不言语。 
 The accomplice of a thief is his own enemy; he is put under oath and dare not testify.  |  | 
|   | 25 | 惧怕人的陷入网罗。惟有倚靠耶和华的,必得安稳。 
 Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.  |  | 
|   | 26 | 求王恩的人多。定人事乃在耶和华。 
 Many seek an audience with a ruler, but it is from the LORD that man gets justice.  |  | 
|   | 27 | 为非作歹的,被义人憎嫌。行事正直的,被恶人憎恶。 
 The righteous detest the dishonest; the wicked detest the upright.  |  |
